Kinofilm to host 2 Iranian Cinema Programs

The 16th Kinofilm in the UK is to screen Iranian short films during 2 special programs.

The 16th Kinofilm & Manchester International Film Festival in the UK has scheduled to screen a number of Iranian short films during two special programs.

Both of the Iranian Cinema Programs are slated for March 24, 2020.

“There’s crushing bereavement and unwanted pregnancy, marital gaslighting and the pressures of childhood, a desperate man drawn into a dangerous occupation, and a method actress out of her depth, in the first of our selections from Iran,” the festival’s website wrote about part one of the program.

“There’s crime committed and crime to solve, a relationship on the rocks and a vanishing lover, a child filled with anticipation and a child haunted by horror, in our second Iranian selection,” it continued about part two of the program.

The two programs will screen ‘One Night’ by Ayda Alimadadi, ‘Cleaner’ by Mohammad-Reza Mayghani, ‘Showan’ by Bijan Zarrin, ‘Hearing Aid’ by Hamid Yousefi, ‘I’m Not an Actress’ by Ali Jalali, ‘Serok’ by Zhivar Farajzadeh, ‘She Who Wasn’t Tamed’ by Saleh Kashefi, ‘Flying Fish’ by Mohammad Towrivarian, ‘Dissect’ by Siavash Shahabi, ‘Don’t Forget Today’ by Ahmad Monajemi, ‘Umbra’ by Saeed Jafarian, ‘August’ by Samira Norouz-Nasseri, and ‘The Feast of the Goat’ by Saeed Zamanian.

Running for more than 20 years, the Kinofilm fest celebrates the talents of emerging and established filmmakers.

The fest is famous for showcasing the best short films and debut features from around the world.

The 16th edition of the Kinofilm is reportedly re-scheduled for March 21-29, 2020.
